Race Regulations
Racers will score points based on their finishing position. We do not use any funky kind of scoring system, there will only be 1 point seperating each position.
20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
1. All drivers need to understand. This is a balls out racing league. You will be expected to navigate extremely difficult tracks, in insanely crowded conditions. For as many as 50 laps. Your driving skills will be tested on a number of tracks, and some classic tracks by respected drivers. You will be given ample time to practice each track before an official race
2. Season tracks will be available prior to each week's race in either the map maker or division manager's file share.
3. The league will not tolerate any complaining about tracks being too hard, or not fair, or over crowded. This
4. Primary Series races are timed events. Heats are 7 minutes, LCQ's are 5 minutes, and main events are 15 minutes. Secondary series go by laps, usually 20.
5. Players may form teams and work together on the track, no more than ten drivers may be on any team. All team changes are to be reported in this thread:

6. During a race, any player who willingly dismounts his vehicle, or goes the wrong way on the track will be Disqualified. It is up to the driver to make sure that they hit all the checkpoints, if a driver misses one they must notify the manager that they have missed a checkpoint. If a missed checkpoint was suspicious the manager may review it in theater.
7. Trolling will not be tolerated! If you need to take out other drivers to win, you dont belong in this league. We expect to see drivers battling for position, and making contact is expected in these situations. However flagrant trolling will be dealt with severely. If a league official feels that your driving is unnecessarily aggressive, they have the right to punish you however they see fit. Anywhere from a warning to a Flagrant DQ. (rule 13) (this rule does not apply in the Mayhem Wrecktacular Series)
8. Race times are final. If we start on time without you it is simply bad luck.
9. Your best 8 out of 11 finishes are what count in the standings at the end of the season.
10. If a driver disconnects for any reason they will be disqualified, no excuses. If it was during the first lap the division manager may choose to restart the race to bring the disconnected driver back in. If they disconnect again after being brought back in then the race will continue without them.
11. In cases of extreme lag, a restart may be called for, if a majority of drivers agree. In a case of a false start there will be a restart before the first lap is completed. Reasons for a false start include, the starting gate not spawning for all drivers, a driver lagging out in the first lap of a race, etc...
12. Flagrant Disqualifications. If a driver is issued a flagrant disqualification they will be booted from the race, and have 5 points permenently deducted from their season total. If a driver receives 3 Flagrant Disqualifications in a season they will be suspended from the league for one season. There are several ways to earn a Flagrant, read all the rules carefully.
13. Keep racing! If a race official determines that a driver in the race has given up on the race and is remaining on the track for the sake of interfering with the other drivers, they will receive a flagrant disqualification.
14. Blue Flags. If a driver has fallen so far behind the leaders in a race and they are about to be lapped, that driver will be given a blue flag. This means that they will be expected to allow the drivers behind them to pass without interfering. The best way to do this is to go wide on a turn. Or pull to one side of the track and let off the gas for a second. When this comes up the race official will give you instructions during the race. Failure to follow those instructions or blue-flagging yourself before the manager calls it will result in a disqualification. (this rule does not apply in the Mayhem Wrecktacular Series)
15. Any driver who is not hearing or speech impaired is required to have a mic plugged in and turned on at all times during and right before a race. If a manager asks for you to speak to verify who you are, then you are required to speak or face being kicked from the lobby/race.
16. You will never score points if you give up on a race, so if you are lagging, keep on racing. If you are lagging so badly that it may be detrimental to other drivers, the manager may ask you to pull off the track. This is the only situation in which you can still score points while not completing the race, for doing the honorable thing.
17. This league is for fun. Lots of the drivers in the ORL take it very seriously. That's OK until it ruins the fun for others. If a driver takes is so seriously that is ruins the fun for the other drivers they may be asked to leave the league.
