Ask questions here and I will add them to the FAQ list with an answer.
Q. Where can I sign up?
A. If the next season is coming up, there will be a registration thread located in the board at the top of the front forum page. If we are in the middle of a season that thread will be replaced with the driver waiting list. You can also sign up for Unofficial Tournaments/Series by locating that board from the main forum page. Make sure you list your exact gamertag every time you sign up for anything.
Q. When does the next season start?
A. Usually a few weeks after the previous season ends.
Q. How long does it take to get into a Division when on the waiting list?
A. Once you signup for a division you will be racing in that weekends events. (Must signup at least 30 minutes before the race)
Q. What kind of racing does each series consist of?
A. The MX series consists of Motocross, Supercross, and Arenacross tracks. These tracks have lots of jumps as well as obstacles such as whoops, rollovers, hip-turns, and more.
The GP series consists of Grand Prix, Road-course, NASCAR, etc. These tracks are for the most part flat, and have a variety of challenging turns such as hairpins, long drawn out turns, chicanes, negative camber turns, and more.
The MT series (Mixed Terrain) series consists of both of the above (GP & MX), along with other kinds of tracks that don't fit into any specific category. These tracks may include GP tracks that have some jumps, terrain tracks, semi-hardcore tracks, and more.
The RX series (Rallycross) consists of tracks very similar to GP, except they each have a shortcut or longcut known as a "joker". You are allowed to take this joker either once or twice per race, depending on what race it is.
The MW series (Mayhem Wrecktacular) is basically a series where you have full permission to wreck people, and the tracks raced are collision courses, terrain tracks, hybrids, and anything else that encourages wrecking.
Q. What is the difference between Primary Series ,Secondary Series, and Tertiary Series (Main Series and Sub Series)?
A. Primary series are the most tried and true forms of racing. These are the MX, MT, and GP series. Secondary series are more just for testing to see if they can become a main series. As for Tertiary Series these are series on another Non-Halo game.
Q. Can you explain teams?
A. There are different components of teams. The first is that people join teams to have fun. They like racing with their friends so why not join a team that their friends are on. The other aspect is that being on a team helps you to do better in races. You can teach each other new ways of driving tracks, along with helping each other in races using various tactics. There are 3 forms of teams one for each level of Series
Q. How do I get on a team?
A. To get on a team you can either put yourself out there in the Team Recruit/Enlist thread found under the Team Boards, or you can talk to team leaders and ask if they would like to have you.
Q. What is the difference between Unofficial Series and Official Series?
A. Official Series are the main races of ORL. These are the most competitive races and the races people pay the most attention to. Only Official Races will count towards your Driver Rating, you will find that board under the Racing News/Driver Ratings Category. Official Series also have championships at the end of each season.
Unofficial Races do not count towards your driver rating. They are mostly run by community members, and are not taken as seriously as Official Division races. Unofficial Series and Tournaments can be a wide variety of racing, from a one-time Battletracks tournament, to a 12-week RallyCross series.
Q. What is the difference between Tournament, and Series?
A. Tournaments are short and sweet, multiple races over the course of one or two days, maybe three. Series are more drawn out, usually one track per week.
Q. What can I do in the ORL besides being in the actual season?
A. Whatever you want, just don't break any of our forum rules, which you can find near the top of the front forum page. Race in unofficial tournaments/series, take part in forum chatter and games, etc!
Q. How do I start my own tournament?
A. On the front forum page you will see the Unofficial Series/Tourneys board, go into that and find the thread name "How to start an Unofficial Tournament or Series", that thread has all the info you need.
Q. What are these shiny plates under peoples names?
A. They are color coded. Gold = Division Champion. Silver = Division Runner ups. Red = All-Star Champion.
For example:
MT Series Champion:
GP Division Champion:
ORL All-Star Champion:
Q. What happens if I break a forum rule?
A. You will be punished based on the severity of your actions. Punishments can range from post deletion, to permanent ban.
Q. Are there any benefits for racing in the ORL?
