Format Changes
RX Changes
This season Rallycross will be moving to a two main format with each one consisting of seven laps. It has come to our attention that, largely because of the reduced skill gap, long races on halo are just not as fun anymore. This is amplified when you race GP-style tracks that Rallycross traditionally takes place on. In addition to the Format change, we will be including Terrain and Mixed Terrain tracks in the Rallycross calendar to try and spice things up a little.
Mixed Terrain, Supercross & Nationals
For pretty much the same reason Supercross and Mixed Terrain races will now be 12 minutes + 2 laps instead of 15 minutes + 2 laps. Nationals will two 8 minute + 2 laps motos.
Mayhem Wrecktacular
Mayhem Wrecktacular will be taking on a more DRL-ish format for this season. It will feature 3 eight lap races on 3 different tracks. We will be including a variety of Mayhem, Motocross and Terrain tracks throughout the season.
Rule Changes
1. Each event may only run if 3 racers + the host (4 people) show up. Events may only be hosted by Managers or League Staff. Should an event fail to run, it will take place the next week as part of a “double header”. There must be at least one non racing manager/host at all MT, RX, Nationals, SX & GP races this season.
2. Rookies who haven’t signed up for an event will be able to race once, but will receive no points for their participation. To count as “signed up” you must sign up at least 15 mins before the designated start time. Existing members that haven’t signed up will have to wait until next week to race.
3. The maximum delay for any event is now 20 mins. Regardless of the issue, if there’s a host and at least 3 other people, the event will start within that time.
Prizes!
The three divisions with the highest average attendance by Race 5 will be “prize divisions”. The first place racer will receive $50, second place will receive $30, and third place will receive $20. For a division to be a “prize division” its average attendance must be 8 racers or more by Race 5. Any less and it will be deemed ineligible. MW and Off-road are excluded from prizes due to their uncompetitive nature.
