Happy New Year! I hope 2014 was good year for you all. The ORL had a strange year last year. It started out pretty great as we entered our first season as the "Octane Racing League". It was my first season competing in the ORL and in my opinion it was a huge success. Every race I competed in was a absolute blast and the league was full of awesome and interesting people. But, as we got towards the end of Halo 4, the activity took a huge drop. I put most of this down to the release of Destiny. A lot of people were getting bored of Halo 4 and, with Bungie making their first new game since Halo, they finally had an alternative to switch to. We were hoping that the release of Halo: TMCC would bring some of them back, but due to the mountains of issues the game had on launch it didn't happen. As a result of this we were forced to cancel our MCC divisions for the current season. But hey, lets not dwell on it. Hopefully as the MCC server issues get fixed the customs will become more stable and we can make season 10 our official debut season for MCC. Here's to a better 2015!
Site Update
First things first you'll notice that the site looks a little different... again. It's a slightly bigger update this time around though in the sense that we've actually added new features to the site. The biggest addition is the new sidebar that stores your latest status updates, the latest tweets from @octane_racing and the most recently updated threads. Other big updates include the redesigned header and the slightly cleaner looking info centre.
Here's a full list of what's new:
Big Updates
• Navigation bar has been moved to the top of the page for easier access
• Forum banner is now full width of the screen
• Sidebar with recent status updates, Twitter feed & recently updated threads has been added
• Redesigned Info Centre
Smaller Changes
• There’s now a small box on the right of your screen that has links to the ORL’s media pages
• Spellchecker added
• Word counter added
• There’s now a list of named colours available to you when making posts
• Redesigned Mini-profiles. Your likes count now appears in there and you can add your gamertags and Kik Usernames to them.
There may be some other minor changes that I have missed but that is the bulk of it. If you have any questions regarding the updates then please post them below.
ORL All-Star Weekend
The All-Star Weekend is back! It features 5 events across three games and will be taking place after week 8. Below is the schedule along with links to the event posts.

Member Of The Month
I am proud to announce that December's Member Of The Month is our newest addition to the staff team, AdamMc66! Adam plays a largely uncelebrated role for the league. It's his job to take down the results of the races and send them to the statistician. It doesn't sound like much, I know. But when you think we have 8 divisions run every week and he has to send the full standings + tracks & car classes for Forza and GTA. It's quite a lot. On top of all that he's also uploaded most of the films to his fileshare for Star.
Racer Of The Month
Aaaand the Racer Of The Month for December is... *drumroll*... Unrealiztic! During December he picked up an impressive 2 wins and 8 podiums in 16 races earning him more points than any other driver in that time. He also attended more races than anyone else last month so props to him for that as well!
Thanks for reading guys! If you liked what you read and want to see more of this next month then be sure to like the post. Comment below if you have any questions/suggestions.
